CFA Level 1 Exam Details
Date Pattern:
THE EXAMS FOR CFA LEVEL 1 ARE CONDUCTED 4 TIMES A YEAR – FEBRUARY, MAY, AUGUST AND NOVEMBER
CFA EXAM Pattern:
The Level I exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions, split between two 135-minute sessions (session times are approximate). There is an optional break between sessions.
- First session (2 hours, 15 minutes): 90 multiple choice questions, covering the topics of ethics & professional standards, quantitative methods, economics, and financial statement analysis
- Second session (2 hours, 15 minutes): 90 multiple choice questions, covering the topics of corporate issuers, equity, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments and portfolio management
However, you would still have to take a gap of 6 months in between the exam in case you don’t clear it. For Eg – If you attempt Feb 2021 exam which you don’t clear, you would be eligible for a 2nd attempt in Aug 2021.
The exam results are available within 60 days following your exam
No negative marking
- Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates in thier second year should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree received from the college/university.
- Final year Students: Final year students of bachelor’s or equivalent degree thereafter, can enroll for their level 1 course.

Mr. Manoj Rajgopal, Founder and the lead instructor of Fin-Envision Learning has cleared all the levels of CFA exams in the first attempt. He has worked on both the buy side as well as sell side in companies like Crisil, JHP etc. His rich experience in Investment banking and financial modeling has honed and strengthened his strategies and broadened his knowledge of portfolio across all investment types and asset classes. Over the years, he has trained more than 2000 candidates all over Mumbai. His ability to creatively simplify complicated concepts has made him a perfect guide to his students.
